Andrology

What is andrology?Part of medicine that studies men, especially diseases of the male reproductive organs.

Andrology is a subspecialty of Urology, where the specialist is responsible for the study, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of issues related to male sexual and reproductive health of men. In CAU we have the experience of Dr. Mariano Cohen to respond to this specialty.
Sexual dysfunctions in men are the different alterations that do not allow them to have satisfactory sexual relations. These difficulties may be caused by organic or psychological factors.
The most common consultations in the Andrologist’s office are the symptoms of pathologies such as varicocele, low level in the result of spermogram or vasectomy and / or vasectomy reversal, everything that refers to family planning and erectile dysfunction difficulties.

Treatments

Some of the treatments we use the most in CAU to solve these pathologies are:
Erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation: in office we use oral treatment, follow-up with the Sexology Service, shockwave therapy, treatment with EMSELLA in its dysfunction program, and if necessary, placement of penile prosthesis in the operating room.

Male infertility: surgeries we perform in our operating rooms: varicocele, vasectomy, post-vasectomy reconstruction and/or testicular biopsy.
