Low energy shock waves are a very effective treatment for patients with erectile dysfunction (ED).
What are shock waves?
Shock waves are pressure waves that travel through a medium at the speed of sound. The shock waves used in erectile dysfunction are low energy, different from those used for stone fragmentation (high intensity).
Currently, low-energy shock waves are used for patients with erectile dysfunction:
- Improve blood circulation.
- Stimulate the generation of blood vessels.
- Produce muscle relaxation.
- Eliminate sore spots.
Do low-energy shock waves have adverse effects?
- Low energy shock waves do not produce pain and are applied directly on the penis without the need for anesthesia.
- It does not produce any type of reaction on the penis or any adverse effect.
