The penis is an organ key in the male reproductive system, and its operation is wrapped in curiosities and myths that many are unaware of. To deepen how does the male reproductive organ, it is important to understand that this not only fulfills a sexual function, but also urinary tract. However, there are many interesting facts about the penis that are less known.
For example, nocturnal erections are not directly related to sexual stimuli. These erections, known as “tumescence penile night” (TPN), occur involuntarily during the phase of REM sleep, helping the oxygenation of the tissue of the penis. If a man sleeps well and reaches this deep phase of sleep, it is possible to have several NPWT in one night. The quality of these erections is a good indicator of sexual health, rather than the quantity.
Another interesting aspect is that the penis can fracture, but it has no bones. The “fracture of the penis” refers to the rupture of the corpora cavernosa that, during a sexual activity, it can happen when the body hits the pubic bone. This type of injury requires immediate medical attention to prevent further complications.
The size of the penis is also the subject of curiosity. On average an erect penis measures 13.1 cm, and this size is not related to virility or sexual performance. In addition, studies have shown that there is no relation between penis size and the foot, removing a myth that has persisted for decades.
On the other hand, although circumcision is a common practice in many cultures, does not necessarily imply a greater hygiene or sensitivity. It is a procedure that is carried out for reasons of cultural, religious or medical, as in cases of phimosis. In terms of sexual pleasure, there is no scientific evidence that a man is circumcised to experience feelings more intense that one is not circumcised.
Finally, it is essential to know how does the male reproductive organ in order to maintain adequate hygiene and sexual health, by avoiding the use of irritants, and in consultation with a specialist in case of symptoms such as burning during urination or discomfort.
