What is andrology?

Part of medicine that studies the man, in particular diseases of the male reproductive organs.

La Andrología es una subespecialidad de la Urología, en donde el especialista se encarga del estudio, prevención, diagnóstico y los tratamientos de los temas relacionados con la salud sexual masculina y reproductora del hombre. En CAU contamos con la experiencia del Dr Mariano Cohen para dar respuesta a esta especialidad.

Las disfunciones sexuales en los hombres son las distintas alteraciones que no le permiten mantener relaciones sexuales satisfactorias. Estas dificultades pueden estar producidas por factores orgánicos o psicológicos.

The most common queries in the office of the Andrologist are the symptoms of pathologies such as varicocele, a low level in the result of semen analysis or vasectomy and/or reversal of vasectomy, all that refers to the family planning and the difficulties of erectile dysfunction.

Treatments

Some of the treatments we use the most in CAU to solve these pathologies are:

• Erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation: in practice we use an oral treatment, follow-up with the Service Sexology, Shock wave therapy, Treatment with EMSELLA in your program, dysfunction, and in cases of
  need placement of penile prostheses in the operating room.
• Male infertility: cirugías que realizamos en nuestros quirófanos: varicocele, vasectomía, reconstrucción post-vasectomía y/o biopsia de testículo.
